We are going to visit the historic Poljica region near the city of Omiš and the river Cetina. Once a defending barrier against the Ottoman Empire, ancient Poljica stands proudly today with its great history and unparalleled beauty. After learning about its history at the local museum, we'll head to one of the best sightseeing outposts in the region, where you can indulge in a breathtaking view of the river canyon and the city of Omiš.
Next, we'll proceed to the degustation and presentation of a local dish called “Soparnik”.
Traditional soparnik is usually a savory pie with a filling of Swiss chard, onions, garlic, parsley, and olive oil sandwiched between two layers of dough. It's baked under the ‘’bell’’ on hot embers.
Enjoy authentic dishes, homemade wine, and, of course, lots of fun. There's no need to rush; after the food and wine, we'll take a super slow boat ride on the river towards the sea, allowing you to witness the power of the river Cetina canyon.
